Body clock transitioning and first OMG WTF am I going to do Experience

So, it’s now been 3 days I believe. My mind and definitely body are all screwed up as it relates to time. I’m crossing my fingers that after tonight I will be firmly situated in the new timezone.

Yesterday I left London and started the destination Italy adventure. Admittedly this one I’ve been a little nervous about because of the (train transfer).

Train was perfect. Best meal. I thought I was in a restaurant. Free wine, etc.

Things are moving along and BOOM we stop (CTA style) apolgetic message and all. I’m thinking here we go. I should mention I have 20 minutes to transfer trains via subway and NEW train station AND new country. Yep.

Worst fear comes true. Announcement, we will be 15 minutes late. NICE! leaving me 5 minutes. SCREWED!!!!!

OK, I just said to myself oh, well. Just figure out how to get to that train station and deal with everything else later. So, I asked a couple of people. NOTHING of course, but blank stares with mumblings. One did say I should just ask Information. (note: Both these guys worked as helpers. He was lazy)

Anyway, so I did. She proceeds to tell me that there are MULTIPLE subway transfers b4 I get to the actual place I should be.  I literally was screwed in the beginning but just didn’t know it.

Thanks Chicago for teaching me the ways of the subway. It came in handy like you would not believe. I feel for anyone trying to do this without that knowledge.

Also, Chicago has the BEST trains after my France training experience. I swear they have to be 80 years old. Seriously. I digress.

Anyway, I finally make it to the train station. VERY proud of myself I might add, especially lugging that big ass piece of luggage I had. Yes, I will stay in shape during this trip. LOL

I go up to the window for my next steps since my train had already left.  She then says it leaves in 45 minutes. WAH!!!! You are kidding right?  Nope. This entire time I had been looking at 19:05 as 17:05. This stims from the Cust REP saying I had 20 minutes to get to the train. She basically planted that seed and I never really saw the time clearly.

I needed the firedrill after the day before letting the other guys lead and me just follow. I’m back and ready to go. Made it to Venice. I’ll save that train ride story for when I’m back. SPECIALLLLLLL!
