Everyday is truly and adventure…Seriously!
End of last night…
Had my first “real” meal in Venice. It was the best pasta I have ever had. Of course we can’t forget my 1/2 liter of wine. Excellent as well.
Still hungry, so I had a Pizza. Met a nice older gentleman from Venice. His name was Jimmy or Johnny. It was cool to listen to him go on about their rich history.
First night out with camera. Needed another night to get it right, but I think I got a few good things. Met another older Venician on the street, who was also very proud of his history. His name was Robby. He proceeded to show me an old palace or something. I don’t know. It was 1a and I was almost checked out. Strangely I saw him on the street this morning.
This is where the fun begins. So, I’m all ready to get on the train to Firenze. I’m there early etc. Had a bad overpriced lunch. Pasta high gone. LOL
I’m waiting around for the train. Checking the times on the boards etc. Something on the board didn’t make sense. Uh, the train was leaving in 2 minutes as I was just hanging out. I’m like OMG. Are u f**ing kidding me? Not again.
This time I cannot blame the CR. Instead I blame my brain of being overloaded with to many times dates transfers…LOL For some strange reason I was thinking 13:40 vs. 13:09. IDK I think I must be time dsylexic.
Oh, well I made it. TG for my early arrivals.
The train guy was an ass and definitely hated his job, but I won’t go into that one.
So, I’m finally relaxed for the 2.5 hour train ride. Get off the train. I’m thinking all has gone well. NOT
It turns out, that the place I’m staying is at a different train station. Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!
So, I stay calm and figure out what the hell and I’m supposed to do. I did of course. This was not a mistake. But you can only plan so much in advance. Live and Learn.
The really fun thing that happened after I arrived in the area. Was I truly got LOST. I take the correct bus, but the bus stops weren’t really listed properly. Guess what? That means you are screwed. I had a bad feeling so I got off the bus and back tracked as much as I could before my short memory faded of the route.
I pull out the map, and was like WTF is this shit? I have NO idea of where I am and it would take HOURS before I could figure that one out. So, I had put the map away and pulled out the GPS. Hmmm. I guess I should have updated the Italy maps.
So, I went back to my paying attention skills and said just pretend like you are in a jungle and use all your tracking knowledge. LOL
Anyway, got a little desperate and had to pull gps out and trust it. He got me in the ball park. The last 2 minutes I broke down and asked someone. Well, I should say pointed to my iphone. LOL Btw the NOTES feature is flawless.
So, I made it. After 2 hours of being lost and walking and pulling my 50lb piece of luggage with backpack in tow. I got there only to discover I had 5 STEEP flights of stairs to climb and then discovered only needed to go 3. DONT ASK. (lady in park)
So, it has been a day. I will be here for 5 days so I can relax and enjoy the sights. No more fire drills at least for awhile.
